Injection Moulding

Volume production of complex shapes in thermoplastics and fluoropolymers by injection moulding.

Fluorocarbon have specially modified injection moulding machines able to process a wide range of thermoplastics and Fluoropolymers.

Nylons, Acetals, PES, PAI, PPS, PEEK, PFA, FEP, PCTFE, ETFE, ECTFE.

The injection moulding machine and ancillary equipment have been modified to allow processing of these materials

• Special barrels and screws to prevent degradation when processing Fluoropolymers.
• Special heaters to allow proving of materials with temperatures in excess of 400°C.
• Desicant dryers to remove all traces of moisture from normal and hygroscopic moulding material.
• High temperature oil heaters to ensure moulds are heated and maintained at the correct temperature.

The injection moulding machines are fitted with special barrels and screws to allow processing of the Fluoropolymers without degradation. Materials with high processing temperatures in excess of 400°C can be processed.

Prototype Tooling

Fluorocarbon have available a unique tooling system for supply of samples and mouldings of prototypes prior to volume production.

The Fluorocarbon group is able to offer the following in-house services:
