PEEK Bearing Cages
In many applications PEEK has replaced metals such as brass or aluminium to reduce both the weight and cost of the part. PEEKs resistance to aging and the absorption of humidity makes it ideal for applications such as process pumps handling liquefied gases and hydraulic fluids. Machined bearing cages made from PEEK have high chemical resistance to lubricants and additives.

To improve these attributes in applications requiring high speed and high temperature or those with a need for chemical resistance, PEEK can be reinforced (filled) with glass or carbon fibre.

Micro-machining is the foundation of a technology called Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems or MEMS. It refers to specific techniques applied to micro scale materials to enable the production of components with high precision and restrictive tolerances.
Excellent material knowledge and engineering expertise is required in the micro machining of High Performance Engineering Plastics and PTFE. Fluorocarbon are able to offer a wide range of sub-contract multi axis CNC and sliding head machining services.
